Description: This package is a 2 day three (3) night stay in deluxe cabin accommodations including two private guided tours by motorboat of the Okefenokee Swamp and St Marys River. It is a tale of two water worlds, the great Okefenokee Swamp and it’s gorgeous offspring, the beautiful St Marys River.

The package includes: Swamp Sightseeing Tour # M-S1 – St Marys River Sightseeing Tour # M-R4 and 3 nights stay in deluxe cabin accommodations.

Lodging

This Okefenokee blackwater pastime package also features one of our Deluxe Cabin accommodations, located here at the entrance to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and a mile from the St Marys river.

You will be staying in one of our comfortable, clean, cozy and convenient Cabins while doing your private package tour. It sure makes things so much easier, nicer & better for everyone especially you, to be right here. Enjoy being in the country and the fine natural surroundings, not to mention some great bird watching found here on our property.

Take a break from TV (you might need it) although the Cabin has high speed internet WIFI reception and decent cell phone service here. Cabins are Non Smoking. A butt-can and ashtray can be provided for outside only smokers.

Our Cabins are Clean! & Nice! & Private! & Fun! And Reasonable! Charming plus Romantic for couples! You could pay allot more to stay at a B&B in town but it would not be cleaner or nicer, just fancier furniture (ours is simple but comfortable).

A Deluxe Cabin can sleep 4 (but for normal to large size folks, the most comfortable situation is for 2 and no more than 3 adults) with bunk beds and 1 double bed. The cozy one room cabin is air conditioned, heated, has its private bathroom, shower, toilet, sink, a small refrig, microwave, coffee pot, tables, chairs and a screened porch. All the bedding, towels etc. are provided (cabin is non-smoking and candles or cooking with any type of open flame is not allowed in the cabin, see Deluxe cabin page for more info).

The Check-in is in the afternoon or early evening 2-6pm. At check-in you get loads of info about everything you will be interested in, then get settled into your cabin. Next, decide on dinner and contemplate your upcoming boating excursion into Okefenokee’s magical black waters the next morning.

The first day is an early morning Okefenokee Swamp private guided boat tour and involves up to 3-1/2 hours on the water in the vast wetland. Enjoy the sights and experiences of Okefenokee’s waterways. This is a wonderful way to see and experience Okefenokee. We will be “swampwise” and after getting well into the swamp and away from civilization, we cut off the outboard motor to enjoy the quiet, peacefulness and a slower pace offered by our efficient electric motor. We believe this mode is especially suited to partake of this pristine ecological preserve.

The second day is a morning private guided motorboat trip on the St Marys River about 3 hours on the water. We will enjoy flora & fauna observations and just plain fun on the River. It is recommended best on weekdays and non-holidays during peak seasons (the warmer months). The Saint Mary’s River is born in the Okefenokee. It is the Okefenokee’s Atlantic Ocean connection. The River incredibly, is an almost pristine, undeveloped, secret “Gem”, that divides the states of Georgia and Florida. Sit back, relax, enjoy this blackwater ride and soak in the river’s unique atmosphere. We sometimes stop if we wish on a secluded sandy beach. We stretch a little, might have a picnic. Again, we use the extra quiet electric motor to navigate and to drift along with only the sounds of nature on this pristine waterway.

This package is ideal for amateur photographers, bird watchers, nature lovers and/or anyone who would appreciate this natural black water beauty. This is great for anyone who would rather not have to paddle the long distances, exert the sweat & energy but still wants to be able to enjoy what we claim is a just as quiet, way to take in this beauty.

The boat seats 4 with comfortable padded swivel seats. Cold drinks will be provided.

You should bring: Optics, Field Guides, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain jackets (we will go rain or shine, remember it is a swamp), insect repellent, comfortable shoes and comfortable clothes. Hot and cold times of year please check with us about some special instructions.

Timing Info: The busiest times at Okefenokee are usually the weekends or holidays, a Friday afternoon, Saturdays and a Sunday after 11AM or almost any time of year except for the slowest months can mean sharing the waterways with others. For those reasons and some other good ones, (like early bird catches the worm). It is important that we go early AM when there is less activity, because we will probably have a better shot at solitude and a higher probability of wildlife sightings along many sections of waterway.

Please Note: This package might not be available March 14th through April 28th We strongly suggest you book this one 2-3 months ahead during March 1 through May 15th time period or try for another time. The River trip is subject to substitutions during times of flooding or danger, check with us for updates on local conditions. It may be substituted for another Okefenokee location if that be the case.

Order and timing of tours  is also subject to change and rearrangement because of weather factors and conditions caused by nature.

Call us (912) 496-4472, Tues. – Sat. 2PM – 6PM or email us from our contact page to get more details.
