Okefenokee Pastimes Cabin Rentals
This page has a little general info on the cabins and our location, plus a bit about us.
We are almost 14 private wooded acres. This is the closest and in the opinion of many, best accommodations available around the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge (O.N.W.R.).
Okefenokee Pastimes is where you want to be if you appreciate a cozy, comfy, nice and very clean cabin (your own personal independent charming little home in the woods). A cabin that features convenience, a natural rural setting, reasonable rates, peaceful surroundings, clean grounds, and a well run privately owned and operated parent business.
Okefenokee Pastimes offers Cabin Accommodations, Guided Tours, Outfitting, some Camping and a tiny Art and Craft Gallery. We have a lot that we do and we do all of it well.
Okefenokee Pastimes is located in southeast GA, USA directly across from the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge’s East Entrance (the govt. headquarters and main entrance of the National Wildlife Refuge). Our business is sandwiched in between Okefenokee’s eastern waterways and the beautiful St. Mary’s River. The physical location is a rural setting with a view of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge’s long leaf pine forest.
Our entrance driveway faces the Okefenokee Refuge Entrance on Georgia highway 121 at the entrance junction about 7 miles south of town (Folkston, GA). It’s an easy 50 minute drive northwest of the Jacksonville, FL (JAX) International Airport.
Cumberland Island National Seashore ferry dock in St Mary’s is only a 45 minute drive east. Okefenokee, together with Cumberland Island are the twin Crown Jewels of an incredibly lush and beautiful southeastern coastal bio-region. Wonderful Atlantic Coast Georgia and Florida Beaches are within an hour drive and some of Florida and Georgia’s most spectacular springs, rivers and natural habitats are a close by and easy drive day trip.
