SERVICES (for Registered Guests)
Special Information No/Charge but only for registered guests at check-in. Swamp insider detailed information and a map to orient you to the Okefenokee and make your stay at Okefenokee Pastimes meaningful. Also, a very valuable information sheet that is chock full of numerous places & ideas on day trips that are an easy drive & fun located in this general area. It covers stuff that you should be interested in. Info on nearby restaurants with our personal ratings on quality. Info about stores, medical and other practical useful items that might come in handy while you are here. All that and more makes staying here and using us, valuable as an information resource.
Laundry – Wash or Dry $1.50 each – it’s not a coin laundry – it is self service after payment is made during our office hours with specific instructions. The laundry is available only when not in use by our business. Please let us know ahead of time that you wish to wash some cloths (extremely filthy items are not allowed in our washers or dryers). Laundry soap is $0.50 per load.
Firewood (when available) $5 bundle, you will need an axe or hatchet that is not provided by us.
Ice (block/small bag cubes) $1 each. Deluxe Cabin guests may be given a complimentary bag of ice cubes upon request at check in.
Wi-Fi high speed Internet reaches all the Cabins, RV sites, Tent sites and most areas of our property, No/Charge for guests. Passwords are assigned at check in.
Fishing here – Catch and Release only. No charge for registered guests at Okefenokee Pastimes. Guests fish at their own risk and all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult or all lose fishing privileges - We have a half acre fish pond here that is stocked full of large (some 5 lbs or more) channel catfish, hand sized shellcracker bream and large mouthed bass a few run over 2 lb size.
OTHER SERVICES (not necessarily registered guests)
The Itsy Bitsy Store is a tiny funny little marketplace in our office that’s kinda third world in size and quantities, having no perishables. We have for sale different types of non-perishable canned and packaged food goods, like waters, sodas, soups, ramen, tuna, veggies, and meats etc etc. From our freezer we offer some ice cream during the hot times. We have hats, sunscreen, bug dope, batteries = AAA, AA, C, D & 9v and some personal grooming items with some other useful stuff.
We carry a nice assortment of pocket folding nature guides that are practically indestructible and totally waterproof. Subjects include, birds, reptiles, mammals, trees, insects, plants, amphibians, flowers and many more.
Also, we have a nice array of guide, nature and information books including the invaluable “Paddling Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge” book. Mention that you saw this on the website and get a dollar discount off the regular $12.95 price.
Visitors to registered guests – Because of insurance and other numerous good reasons visitors are not free and must be signed in as visitors to a registered guest here. Visitor sign in is during our usual office hours of Tue – Sat 2pm – 6pm. Guests staying here and expecting to have outside visitors need to work the timing of this out with us ahead of time - please – at or before check in. Extra fees and sign in are involved with visitors. A visitor will need to pay a $10 each day fee. All visitors must park in the designated visitor parking area and leave by 10pm. Please don’t leave it for us to get signatures and collect fees from visitors outside of office hours (we really do not enjoy dealing with this one) we charge an additional $ outrageous fee $ to do so. Up front honest and open communications will prevent serious problems.
Showers are $10 each for un-registered guests. Showers feature hot water in our nicely appointed, clean, heated, well kept, Men’s and Ladies bathrooms. Customers using our shuttle services or boat rentals may use a half price discount of $5 each.
Car Parking $2 each over 2 hrs or until 5pm
RV Dump Station $10 each
RENTAL EQUIPMENT: (usually available for Guests only)
Charcoal grill $5 for up to three days (clean up and safety deposit credit card fee will apply see fire and charcoal use info on cabin pages)
1 & 2 burner Camp Stoves @ $10 & $15 each for outside on picnic table use only, up to 3 days plus a $25 + clean up and damages/replacement deposit held by a credit card is required for the 2 burner stove or any pans used. Propane fuel is purchased extra for $3.99 bottle.
