Cabin Reservation info


Cabin  Reservations and Deposit Information:

On Weekends and Holidays we do require a two night minimum, one nighters can wait till two days prior and try for a reservation.

For Cabin rentals we require a deposit of half the total due. We will accept a credit card for the deposit if there is not enough time to get a check to us (6 days or less before reservation date). We will hold the reservation 4 weekdays to receive your check by mail.

Check in time for the cabins is 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Check out time is 11:00 am.



Because we are a small personal business, not able to easily absorb cancellations, it always seems to cost us serious money. Deposits are only refundable less a $50. service charge if we have at least a 72 hour notice please note the below exceptions that mean a refund will depend on whether we are able to re-rent your cabin. Due to  serious health/family issues we will try to work with you on a case by case basis.

Deposit Refund Exceptions:

Holidays, Events, Weekends, The Busy Seasons (Spring – Feb. 15th to June 1st – plus Fall – Oct. 1st – Nov. 30th) and Summertime (Summer is different, see below for further info). All of these times – No deposit refunds are usually possible.

An exception refund will hinge on re-rental, minus a $50 service charge. Chances are better for us to be able to re-rent a cabin reservation time slot with the more time you give us to work with. We do our best to re-rent in order to help us both out.

Summer is a different situation (no deposit refund is possible at all in summer). We are sorry, but this is the only way we will rent our cabins June 1st through September 15th.

Please be absolutely sure of your dates before you book any of the no refund times.

Cancellations are always a hassle and always costly to us and would be for you as well. So, please be sure of your dates. Sometimes, it may be possible to switch dates with enough notice. Expect an extra charge of $25 – $50 to make changes or switch dates, if it’s possible to do so.

Multiple night rentals we ask for payment in full at check in.

We really appreciate cash or a personal check to pay the balance due. We do of course accept Visa and Master card if you must. We are a little business and the credit card banks hit us with a percentage that we hate to have to pay to the credit card industry. It wouldn’t cost you any more. Checks should be made out to Okefenokee Pastimes Inc., mail to Okefenokee Pastimes, 28244 Highway 121 , Folkston, GA. 31537 also include the days you want to reserve, number in party and time you think you will arrive.

Business Information & Hours:

We are open in our Office, Gallery Gift Shop, and Store between the hours of 3 PM to 6 PM and Closed on Mondays and Sundays. Please read the info below on Sunday check-in ability.

Our office closes at 6:00pm E.S.T. Check in time for the cabins is 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Check out time is 11:00 am. Sometimes we can facilitate a later check in, but we do charge extra for that service and you need to arrange it ahead of time. Call (912) 496-4472,  3 pm to 6 pm Tuesday – Saturday (closed on Monday and Sundays) or e-mail us from our form on the website contact page. Please call and leave a message if you are having problems e-mailing us.

Mondays are our serious, sacred and only day off. If you are planning to check in for a multi night stay with tours on a Monday we can sometimes facilitate an evening check in (between 6pm & 7pm only without extra charges) given plenty of prior notice. Please notea Monday check in is not available in March, April, May or most of Oct. & Nov. so please do not ask.

Sunday check-in is by a prior appointment time only, (afternoons usually between 5pm and 6pm) because the business is closed and our office is closed that day we must set up a specific time to coordinate the check in.

All rates are subject to change. Deposits are required to confirm reservations.

Late Arrival Info:

We are sorry but we are not set up to take late check-ins. Our business is small and run by us, (2) individuals, not a government or a large corporation with lots of capitol & staff. Please understand that besides our regular chores of cleaning, maintenance and paper work, we also offer shuttle services and guided tours, almost all of which requires early morning timetables. Our days usually start at 5am or earlier so we are whipped by 6pm, ready for the work day to end and our precious time off. Our office closes at 6:00pm E.S.T.

Sometimes with proper prior communications on Friday Night Only we accommodate until 7:PM a check-in only with prior notification. We understand for our Cabin Guests it is sometimes impossible to be here to check in before closing. In order to accommodate those folks we must charge an additional fee to re-open the office especially for their late check-in – $20, 6-8 pm – and $40 extra charge for 8-9 pm checking in. After 9 pm there is absolutely No check in. Late check in is not available in our busiest times sorry.

With any after 6 PM check-in we require that you make arrangements well in advance (preferably when you make reservations) and give us a courtesy phone call about an hour before the estimated arrival time. Like everyone, we would like a chance to relax at the end of the day and have our dinner at a reasonable hour without interruption.

We do what we can and we know we might miss some folks but we cannot efficiently run our business any other way.

Reservations are held until 6 PM unless we had set up a prior arrangement of a later check in time. After that time the reservation is lost.

After 9:00 PM check in is possible under certain rare circumstances, but is discouraged because it is complicated, can be costly and involves much effort and care. It must be arranged at least a week ahead of time. You must call and talk to us and see if it’s even possible to set this up.
